PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Paperworks Industries, Inc. (Paperboard Mfg.)

Environmental, Health and Safety Manager (2016-Present)

·         Responsible for re-building the EH&S department and re-implementing EH&S programs for a $100 million paperboard manufacturer. This position reports directly to the Plant General Manager and is the primary EH&S official for the local operation.  Conducts all regulatory agency interactions. Responsibilities of this position include oversight of the Safety and Environmental Department, all Occupational Health related concerns and implementation of LEAN manufacturing.

·         Reorganized the EH&S Department and led a culture change resulting in a 38% reduction in injury and illnesses in 1 year.

·         Implemented a robust compliance assessment process resulting in a sharp reduction in regulatory findings and improved compliance.

·         Developed and implemented a comprehensive EH&S Management System resulting in a 50% increase in corporate and compliance audit/assurance scores.

·         Established and Chaired the PA L&I Certified Safety Committee resulting in a 5% decrease in insurance premiums.

Purolite (Copolymer and Resin Manufacturing)

Environmental, Health and Safety Manager (2006-2016)

·         Responsible for re-building the EH&S department and re-implementing EH&S programs for a $75 million plastics and resins manufacturer. This position reports directly to the Plant General Manager and is the primary EH&S official for the local operation.  Conducts all regulatory agency interactions. Responsibilities of this position include oversight of the Safety and Environmental Department, all Occupational Health related concerns.

·         Reorganized the EH&S Department and led a culture change resulting in a 60% reduction in injury and illnesses during tenure.

·         Developed and implemented a comprehensive EH&S Management System resulting in a 68% increase in corporate and compliance audit/assurance scores.

·         Chaired and conducted all accident and injury investigation through Five Why Problem Solving methodology.

Cycle Chem, Inc. (Environmental Treatment, Storage & Disposal Facility)

Regulatory Compliance Officer (2003-2006)

·         Duties include ensuring that the facility maintains compliance with all regulations concerning EPA, OSHA, TSCA, and DOT at a fully permitted hazardous and residual waste facility that manages over 50,000 containers annually.

·         Assist the General Manager and Approvals Manager with all technical aspects of the facilities operation. This includes approving inbound waste shipments, provide proposal and bid information, audit and approve outbound disposal facilities.

·         Duties include daily facility inspections in accordance to the facilities permits. This includes acting as the liaison with all regulatory agencies and maintaining compliance with the PA DEP Lab Accreditation program and the facilities Radiation Action Plan. The facilities permits include: TSDF, Residual Waste, Air, NPDES, and DOT.

·         Supervise and train thirty-five employees on facility operation and compliance matters. Training includes HAZWOPER training, DOT training, the eight-hour HAZWOPER refresher, respiratory training, forklift training, blood borne pathogens, lockout/tagout training, hazard communication training, PPC training, medical monitoring oversight and fire safety training.

·         Responsibilities also include, completing and submitting the biennial hazardous waste report, the annual import/export report, the monthly storm water discharge report, quarterly Act 108 well water monitoring and the OSHA 300 log.

 

Safety-Kleen Corporation (Environmental Treatment, Storage & Disposal Facility) (1991-2003)

Facilities Manager (2001-2003)

·         Duties as facilities manager include overseeing operations pertaining to compliance, insurance, inspections, safety, and training at a hazardous waste management facility as they relate to the EPA, OSHA, and DOT. Assist the General Manager with all technical aspects of the facilities operation.
