Description

As part of the Lift Operations staff, you will be involved in a number of aspects of our mountain operations. This position is very important to the overall operation of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation as you will be responsible for ensuring that every guest accessing our 2.965 skiable acres has a valid ticket or pass. Apply if you have excellent customer service skills and can recognize and resolve ticket issues.

Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • Greet every guest, assist, and provide information (grooming reports, weather, conditions at the top, etc)
  • Check each rider for a valid ticket or pass
  • Responsible for proper care and operations of ticket scanner (assigned daily)
  • Courteously handle situations related to ticket problems
  • Control and organize the guests in the maze
  • Manage conflicts and difficult situations in a busy environment
  • Must maintain a professional well-groomed appearance
  • Be familiar with special mountain events
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and tickets
  • Knowledge of the resort and community
  • Other duties, as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Shovel, scoop and rake snow
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Work in extreme weather conditions
  • Must maintain a professional well-groomed appearance
  • Must be comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs. on a daily basis
  • Ski or snowboard experience is helpful but not required

Miscellaneous information:

  • This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
  • Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed

Must be authorized to work in the US or have a valid work permit

Educational Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
