Job Description

Reports to: NYC Lead Technician / NYC Operations Manager

About Wynndalco
Wynndalco Enterprises, LLC is a certified minority-owned business enterprise (MBE/DBE) delivering technology services to major public-sector clients. Headquartered in Wood Dale, Illinois, with field operations in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Iowa, and Missouri, we provide end-user device deployment and repair, on-site field service for K-12 school districts, photo enforcement system maintenance, and back-office violation processing. Our teams keep classrooms, campuses, and critical infrastructure running every day.

About the Role
Wynndalco provides on-site break-fix field service for New York City Department of Education under a national IT services prime contractor. As an FSS Technician, you are the face of that program: you travel to schools every day, work a ticket-driven repair queue, and keep student and staff technology running. This is hands-on hardware work in a fast-moving operation.

What You’ll Do
  • Work assigned break-fix tickets at NYC DOE school sites: diagnose and repair laptops, desktops, Chromebooks, tablets, printers, and classroom AV/interactive boards.
  • Perform deployment assistance: device swaps, new-device setup, moves/adds/changes, and reconnection work (re-cabling and re-enabling endpoints after room moves).
  • Pick up failed or end-of-life devices with proper chain-of-custody paperwork and route them to the NYC warehouse; process equipment disposal tickets when assigned.
  • Document every visit same-day through our mobile field intake form. Your documentation drives ticket closure, the daily productivity report to the client, and invoicing.
  • Identify out-of-scope work on site and capture the details (photos, models, quantities) so the intake coordinator can generate a client quote.
  • Check in and out with each school’s main office or IT point of contact, follow site access protocols, and represent Wynndalco professionally with school staff.
  • Keep assigned tools, parts, and your area of the NYC warehouse clean, organized, and accounted for.

What You’ll Bring
  • 1-3 years of hands-on hardware repair or deployment experience (laptops, desktops, Chromebooks, printers).
  • Working knowledge of Windows and ChromeOS; basic familiarity with macOS/iPadOS; basic networking (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, IP connectivity).
  • Experience working from a ticketing system with disciplined same-day documentation habits.
  • Ability to travel between school sites throughout the Bronx daily (public transit or personal vehicle).
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in varied school settings (classrooms, carts, closets, stairs).
  • Clear, courteous communication with non-technical staff – teachers, principals, and office personnel.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice to Have
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in K-12 or other education environments.
  • OEM warranty repair experience (Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer, or Apple).
