Second half of October marks the time of year when you will commonly see ski resorts hosting their winter job fairs. South Lake Tahoe ski resort is hiring for the 09/10 ski season, here is the scoop on Heavenly …
Located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, Heavenly spans the border of California and Nevada. This is a rather large ski resort!
”With 4,800 acres, we are one of North America’s largest mountains. At over 10,000 feet, we are Tahoe’s highest. Our 3,500 foot vertical is unmatched on the West Coast. And our average annual snowfall is a formidable 360 inches. And just in case that’s not enough for you, we have one of the largest snowmaking systems on the continent at the ready, covering 70% of the mountain.”
And I must not fail to mention that every review I read by skiers and visitors to Heavenly noted the great size, number and variety of trails, and the spectacular view of Lake Tahoe.
South Lake Tahoe stats:
- Location: South Lake is located only 180 miles east of San Francisco, 140 miles north of Yosemite National Park and 60 miles west of Reno.
- Population: South Lake Tahoe, including the Stateline area, has a permanent, year-round population of 34,000.
- Sunshine: The sun shines at Lake Tahoe during 75% of the year, or 274 days.
- Snowfall: At lake level, annual snowfall averages 125 inches. At alpine skiing elevations, the snowfall averages 300 to 500 inches each year.
