Position Summary:

The Material Handler ensures uninterrupted production flow by safely receiving, storing, kitting, and delivering materials to point‑of‑use in line with CRL standards. S/He serves as shipping/receiving back-up and inventory crib back-up as workloads require. This role uses (Oracle), RF scanning, and lean logistics methods to achieve inventory accuracy, on‑time line supply, and dock‑to‑stock targets. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.

Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Receive Material; verify counts, condition, and documentation.
  • Post goods receipt, print/apply labels, and resolve variances with Purchasing/Quality.
  • Perform put‑away to designated storage locations; maintain FIFO and lot/serial traceability within 24hrs of receiving materials
  • Pick and stage materials per production order, kits, and min/max routes; replenish storage bins.
  • Deliver materials to point‑of‑use for machine centers; remove empties and returnable (totes, dunnage).
  • Escalate shortages; support alternatives and substitutions according to approved processes.
  • Conduct cycle counts, bin audits, and root‑cause investigations.
  • Maintain 5S in warehouse and dock areas; ensure location and label accuracy.
  • Support physical inventories and inventory projects (slotting, layout changes, ABC classification).
  • Operate forklifts/wrappers per certification; comply with OSHA and CRL EHS policies.
  • Handle CRLD‑sensitive parts and special packaging per work instructions; report nonconformances.
  • Participate in near‑miss reporting and continuous improvement (Kaizen, problem solving).
  • Coordinates and monitors the collection and disposition of scrap metals
  • Conducts daily checks of equipment operated (i.e. hi-lo, lift truck, etc.)
  • Must be able to obtain power industrial truck certification.

Experience:

  • Requires dexterity skills
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read work orders, part drawings/labels, and follow standard work instructions (English).
  • Must be able to mentally track several jobs simultaneously and actively stay productive at all times.
  • Strong attention to detail, counting accuracy, and sense of urgency in a high mix environment.
  • Minimum 2 years working in a manufacturing environment required
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience with power industrial trucks
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
  • Experience with computerized inventory control systems & cycle counting
  • Experience with MS Word and MS Excel
  • Must be able to work effectively under deadlines

Education and Certification Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Stand 10+ hours a day

  • Ability to bend, twist and turn
