
Christmas week may be the busiest week of the ski season with some extra hours at work and longer lift lines for locals in all ski towns, but soon enough, January 2nd will appear. As January begins, tourist visits tend to drop, and local residents get out and enjoy more time and space on their local hill. Hard to believe just a month ago everyone was so desperately praying for snow.
Ski Resorts everywhere are reporting great snow (check out OnTheSnow.com). What a Christmas blessing in a ski town.

For those of you who love to snowboard and have been considering Taos, New Mexico as your new mountain home, Taos Ski Valley announced last week that they will open the mountain to snowboarders starting March 19, 2008.

Unless you are a ski town employer on an exceptional powder day or the significant other of a dedicated skier who may choose skiing over spending time with you … I would have to say no.
