A pleasant change to hear today that not only has Jackson Hole Mountain Resort not raised the prices on the full season pass this year, but in local real estate news, Jack Stout, long time local Real Estate Broker, reports that Jackson Hole is experiencing (somewhat of) a buyer’s market!

Found somewhat of a different slant in Outside Magazine’s best towns list this year. It is diverse for sure, Washington D.C., Louisville, KY and Crested Butte, CO are all in the top ten. Sustainability, revitalization, and renewal are the main focus, but that is not to say there are not a few highlights to let you know what each town has to offer in the way of the great outdoors.

When I asked a friend who has spent a substantial amount of time in the mountains of Alaska what stood out to him about Girdwood, Alaska, his first reply was “it’s beautiful, great skiing, small town, endless outdoor recreation …” I stopped him, “Ok, that is a ski town … but what sets Girdwood, Alaska apart from other ski areas?” and he went off …” undiscovered paradise, unbelievable views, skiing and hiking off the top of the tram, received over 1000 inches of snow in a season more than once, less crowds, 40 miles from a major city with all the modern conveniences you would ever need ….”.
